Metrojacksonville Website Features SHARPjax

Stephen Dare from Metrojacksonville is posting information about the group on their website. Interesting to hear what the people on that site (some SPAR members) are saying about our group.

The Mission Statement.

Thanks for all the emails and chatroom input on the Mission Statement! It was really grand to have so many ideas and all the arguing was worth it.

We got them all down to a short Mission Statement: Here it is.

SHARP is dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the historic structures of the Springfield Area.

SHARP is determined to celebrate the unique 140 year history of Springfield throughout its many historic transitions and eras. Part of is mission will be to compile a historic narrative and create exhibits publications demonstrating the diversity of the unique people, groups and backgrounds throughout that timeline.

Its is devoted to improving the quality of life through cooperation, friendship and sharing the responsibilities and benefits in the life of the neighborhood.

SHARP will advocate for principles of urbanist planning that are environmentally and socially responsible and for bringing the greatest benefit to all the residents of the neighborhood.
Pretty sharp huh?

Welcome Lovers of Springfield!

Thanks for joining us as we take the first steps to create an organization that is dedicated to preserving and restoring the amazing history of the Springfield neighborhood of Jacksonville.

This site is for all those who want to join us as we put a stop to the disgraceful demolitions and destruction of the area's history that has been going on for 15 years.

It is also here to help celebrate the funky diverse and surprising history of Jacksonville's oldest neighborhood.

Thanks
Jasper Aeten
